In anticipation and excitement for the Oscars Lanc?me Ambassadress Amanda Seyfried helped co-host an exciting and elegant affair between Vanity Fair & Lanc?me at the “Celebrate The Future of Hollywood” Pre-Academy Awards Event. As Amanda wore an edgy little black dress the makeup was kept modern and fresh. “My inspiration for the makeup was the Elie Saab futuristic minidress. It was seductive and fun and inspired me to pair it with a dramatic black eyeliner, fresh skin, and a nude lip” – Genevieve Herr for Lanc?me.

Face Makeup

Prepping and priming the face before applying makeup for a big event is an important step to hydrate and prepare the skin for foundation application. Genevieve started by applying Lanc?me Prep & Hydrate Primer all over Amanda’s face. After prepping the skin Genevieve used Lanc?me Teint Id?le Ultra Wear Foundation Stick all over the face and then used a lighter shade as concealer where needed to add additional coverage.

To add subtle color to the face and ensure it does not look washed out in photos. Genevieve used a touch of Lanc?me Blush Subtil in Sheer Amourose on the apples of the cheeks for a hint of color and warmth.

Eye Makeup

The classic cat eye is an iconic makeup look that is often seen on the red carpet. To create a cat eye Genevieve first used Lanc?me Hypn?se 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in French Nude to define and add depth with the light brown eyeshadow color in the crease and a touch of the lightest shade in the inner corners.

Next Genevieve lined Amanda’s upper lash line with Lanc?me Le Crayon Kh?l in Black Ebony, using the pencil eyeliner as a guide for the liquid eyeliner. To create the cat eye effect Genevieve used Lanc?me Artliner Precision Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner. Genevieve created a thicker line to ensure the eye popped and then did a little flick at the end to keep it sexy and edgy. As the final step Amanda’s lashes were curled before Lanc?me Grandi?se Extréme Mascara was applied to the top lashes for extra volume and lift.

Lips

To finish the look, Genevieve created a soft nude lip. First she lined Amanda’s lips with Lanc?me Le Lip Liner in Fraichelle and then applied Lanc?me L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick in Merci Simone on top for a beautiful soft matte finish.
